Full workspace service that covers everything

Newsec

Newsec is a full service property house – whether you are an investor, a property owner, or leasing property assets. Spacent’s service combines the use of their own office with the use of external coworking locations into the same package for Newsec’s employees.

“During the pandemic, Spacent provided good options for working nearby but still outside of home. At least we didn’t have to consider getting a bigger apartment to accommodate to the needs of remote working”, tells an Espoo resident Patrik Etelävuori from Newsec with a smile on his face.

“We didn’t have to consider getting a bigger apartment to accommodate to the needs of remote working.”

“We had quite strict remote working policies at our own office, and I thought that I wanted to keep my commuting time to a minimum. By using the closest Spacent coworking location in Keilaniemi, I saved 45 minutes from commuting in a day. Spacent’s application is very easy to use, which is an important aspect for me, especially since I have in my profession encountered a lot of different solutions related to space use.”

Etelävuori’s employer Newsec has offered its employees Spacent’s Shared Membership in Finland and Newsec is utilizing the service for both their internal office portfolio and external coworking locations usage.

Newsec is a leading Nordic expert organization in real estate industry and has over 600 employees in Finland. The people are very important for Newsec. As an indication of this, Newsec is a Great Place to Work® certified company and it has been on the list of the top employers in Finland for fourteen years in a row now. In 2021, Newsec was placed second in the list of the best large employers.

“For me, the freedom of choice is very important for the employee experience.”

“For me, the freedom of choice is very important for the employee experience. I believe that I will continue using remote locations outside my home also in the future whenever it is convenient for my work. The pandemic proved that working is not tied to a certain time or place, and for me, using Spacent locations might be increasingly relevant in the future”, Etelävuori explains.

Spacent’s service enabled expansion potential to the current office

“We decreased our office capacity during COVID to ensure safer working conditions and secure distances for those who wanted to work in the office. With Spacent’s service we can manage our own space capacity easily and also provide options for those who couldn’t fit into the office. Majority of our people are very mobile and I believe that in many of our business areas the use of third locations will increase. Spacent is an option worthy of consideration when we are thinking about our future workspace solutions and management”, reveals Newsec’s Heidi Lehtinen.

Spacent’s membership is a desired benefit for employees who can save time from commuting and get access to high quality office spaces outside their homes.

“We think that the cross use of our internal locations will increase in the future.”

“We have also added eight of Newsec’s offices in Finland to the Spacent platform and we think that the cross use of our internal locations will increase in the future. We have utilized Spacent’s analytics and reports extensively in our own workplace planning as well”, Lehtinen tells.

Spacent’s simulations illustrated the potential of hybrid working

“Before deploying the service, we created multiple hybrid workplace scenarios based on actual employee zip codes using Spacent’s simulation tool. The simulations illustrated clearly our own office use and the need for third locations. This information we can easily use also in our future planning. However, we are fully aware that the workplace evolution is still under progress, but with flexible space use, we can achieve a cost effective workplace solutions that above all support our employees”, Lehtinen explains.

Spacent has developed its simulation tool for the purpose of workspace planning for space occupiers. With the tool, organisations can create their own hybrid workplace scenarios based on their real situation and data.
